The luxury designer version of our polyfill forms, our down/feather filled inserts are filled with 5% white goose down and 95% white goose feathers. The cover is made from 100% cotton and features a 255 thread count. Both down and feathers are odour free and thoroughly washed. Please note that our alternative, polyfill pillow forms, are better suited than our down/feather inserts for people with allergies. These down/feather cushion inserts are quite popular with decorators and designers who wish to fill out their custom pillows. Our price reflects the savings you get when buying a down and feather blend as opposed to the extremely expensive all-down inserts. Because of this we can offer you low wholesale prices, making them a perfect fit for resale and for direct use in design projects.
The Down/Feather Fill in our Pillow Inserts
Our down/feather pillow forms (commonly known as pillow inserts or cushion inserts as well) contain a blend of 95% white hoose feather and 5% white goose down. The feather are rinsed and sorted, and have a fluffy white appearance (see left). They are enclosed in a 250-thread count cover that keeps the feathers from poking through, ensuring a soft and comfortable pillow. We make sure not too include too many black feathers, as this can create a dirty looking product when it clashes with the rest of the pillow insert, which is white. The natural odour that organic products provide is removed through washing of the down/feather blend, and this also enables the product to be safe and clean for use in homes.
What Size Down/Feather Insert?
For a more detailed look into choosing the right size for pillow forms/inserts, please see our article: Pillow Form Sizes. The basic rule for a pillow containing down and feathers is to choose a form that is two sizes larger than the cover. For example, if you have a 16" x 16" square cushion cover, an 18" x 18" down/feather insert is perfect. Because this product has an upscale nature to it, it is filled to a medium level as per trade standards to make it look elegant. This is in contrast to a polyfill pillow form which is heavily filled to make it look puffy. By using a larger size insert, you're ensuring that the corners fill out properly, which leads to a more elegant look for the cushion.
